Life's Lessons

So I recently learned a valuable lesson...never let Nate choose our FHE activity. Don't get me wrong; he's great when it comes to planning dates or weekend get-aways but I now know FHE activities aren't his strong suit. I was assuming we'd go out to dinner, take a walk, or at least get dessert or something. I couldn't have been more wrong! He drove me all the way up Hobble Creek canyon before he finally told me what our activity was....

FISHING! Can you believe that? Boys will be boys I guess. Now I won't feel bad when I rent "27 Dresses" for next week's FHE activity. In all honestly I had a lot of fun just being with him. The weather was perfect and the canyon was beautiful. And the best part was he didn't even get mad at me when I snapped off his most expensive lure into the water on my first, and consequently last cast.

I now know to plan a time in advance, because with my family there is always something going on! I think Im coming out again this summer, we will have to 'plan' a lunch! haha.

Nate loves his fishing! I agree that you should plan the events from now on. we should plan one together that is totally girly. Chick flick and chocolate should be involved!

I think watching '27 dresses' for FHE next week is appropriate payback for having to go fishing. We used to watch '24' for our FHE...

Looks like a fun trip but I see a fishing pole and a lake but what I don't see are any fish. To be a fishing trip there must be fish. Just like for "27 Dresses" there must be a bridesmaid wearing a dress. In order for this to be a fishing trip there must be fish. So in this case the term fishing trip is what we used to call a "weasel word". When a weasel would get into the chicken coop it would suck the inside yolk out of the eggs leaving just the shell so there would be nothing left of the egg. So a weasel word is a word or term that when both components are not present then there is really nothing left of the term. So was this a real fishing trip? I think not because without the fish there is just a fish story. Sounds like you had fun anyway at your nice day at the lake.
Love,
Dad
